Jonathan (middle) is pictured here with Matt (left) and favorite cousin, Lucas Simpson (right).
If Jon has a choice to spend time with anyone, he usually chooses Lucas. They have endless hours of fun together. Jon joined Lucas' family for a camping vacation at Christina Lake this summer.
J0n is in grade 7 at the brand new school in Sardis, GW Graham. This is the first year that it has students and will eventually have grade 7 -12. Currently, it only goes to grade 10. Matthew is also at GW, so this has been great to have a brother around (I'm saying this like I know it, but I really know nothing).
School comes easily to Jon, but it has definitely helped that he has a study area under his loft bed. He is an A-Honors student who enjoys being creative in his work. Even though Jon was "the shiest student I ever taught" (according to his kindergarten teacher who has 30 years of experience), he really isn't quiet. Jon has a huge network of friends at school and at the church youth group. He is very funny and often has our family in stitches.
Matthew was very proud to bring home his A-Honors report card also this past semester! He has been very diligent with his homework and has put his whole heart into it this year. We are very proud of his tenacity and dedication. He's 2 weeks behind now because of his illness, so he has some work to do to catch up.
These two boys are best friends. They take each other to the edge with provoking and bugging and wrestling and nit-picking, but they really enjoy their time together. When Matt needed a friend to play Nintendo for hours (to keep from twitching), Jon was right there, willing to play for hours upon hours. Both Matt and Jon are growing into incredible people - and they enrich our lives every day. In January, we are going to start a new phase of our lives as these two begin to play bass guitar and drums. We were given a set of electric drums which will be set up in the next few days.... bring on the boy band.
